Christmas Island

Distant atoll with spectacular drop-offs

Christmas Island lies 225 miles off the coast of Java, but belongs to Australia. The spectacular natural beauty on and around this remote island will astonish you.

About Christmas IslandChristmas Island is a volcanic atoll that is largely covered by tropical rainforest, offering refuge to a large number of unusual birds. The Christmas Island National Park covers 60% of the island. The island only houses 1600 permanent residents. Diving Christmas IslandUnder water the topography is just as impressive. You will dive along impressive coral cliffs. Many drop-offs are at only 60 feet off the coast. Visibility varies between 90 and 150 feet, providing it doesn’t storm. Some dive spots are not always accessible because of the strong north-west winds.
