About Komodo
The Komodo dragon is world famous. These huge lizards live on an island that matches their prehistoric appearance: extremely dry, rocky and – apart from thorn bushes and the odd palm – barren. In order to protect this unique reptile and its environment, the Komodo National Park was formed and the archipelago is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Komodo can be reached by daytrip from Labuan Baya and by live aboard from Bali.
Diving Komodo
The water around Komodo is bursting with more than 1000 sorts of fish and 25 types of coral. The dive spots are diverse. Komodo is well-known for difficult drift diving and large numbers of pelagic fish. In addition you will find, in sheltered bays, reef declines with beautiful corals where sponges, butterfly fish and Emperor angelfish live. Diving Komodo requires the necessary experience. The water temperature and the visibility can vary and the current can be unpredictable and strong.
