Marsa Alam
Marsa Alam is a tiny village situated to the south of Hurghada, near El Quseir. Near the coast you'll find 100km of fringe reefs.
About Marsa Alam
Spread approximately 10 km apart, along the 180km long coastline of Marsa Alam, are the resorts on the provincial road. In between, there is nothing. The village of Marsa Alam offers little for entertainment apart from two cafes and a few mosques. Shops, restaurants and outdoor cafes are wanting. About 100 km to the north of the village is an airport to which a few airlines fly.
Diving Marsa Alam
Until a few years ago, the area to the south of Al Quseir was only accessible by live-aboards or dive camps in the desert. Directly along the coast lies 100km of fringe reefs, a little further out is the magnificent and famous Elphinstone Reef. By boat it is possible to reach the dive spots near Safaga.
