Mu Koh Surin

Plenty of turtles and whale sharks

The archipelago Mu Koh Surin is situated within the marine park with the same name. You can spend the night on the islands or visit them by live-aboards.

About Mu Koh Surin
Mu Koh Surin lies north of Mu Koh Similan. Of the five islands, only the main island, Koh Surin Noa is inhabited. The headquarters of the supervisors, a small fishing village and a settlement of sea gypsies are located here. It is possible to stay on the island. The managers of the grounds rent bungalows and tents.  There is no luxury, just peace. On Koh Surin Noa you can walk through rain forest and along mangroves. There are also many small beaches. A live-aboard from Koh Phuket or Khao Lak is the most popular way to visit Mu Koh Surin.

Diving Mu Koh Surin
Under water around Mu Koh Surin you see fringing reefs around the islands, rock islands and pillars. At the westcoast of Koh Surin Noa (dive spot Mai Ngam) and eastcoast of Koh Surin Tai (dive spot Turtle Ledge) you have a good chance to encounter soup- and loggerhead turtles. In the north part of the underwater park lies Koh Chi. Here you can see the turtles that move to the islands pass by. In the south of the park is Richelieu Rock, a series of pillars grown over with gorgones. Whale sharks are almost always around here.
