Ponta do Ouro

Expanding tourism near unspoiled reefs

Diving in Mozambique is an adventurous and not so obvious choice of destination. Therefore, the thriving marine life is unprecedented in its variety. Ponta do Ouro offers the best in diving experiences within the easiest reach.

Up and Coming Tourism
Ponta do Ouro, a thriving town by Mozambican standards, lies in the south of Mozambique on the border with South Africa. Since 1994, in the aftermath of civil war, the small town of Ponta do Ouro is finding increasing popularity as a tourist destination. There are a few hotels and restaurants, a bank and a campground. Due to its proximity to nearby Maputo (Mozambique) and Pretoria (South Africa), Ponta do Ouro is easily accessible.

Unspoiled Reefs
The civil war ensured that the reefs have remained untouched and, therefore, in very good condition. There is no shortage of marine variety, with each dive spot having its own distinctive character. Dive boats are the main means of reaching the many diverse dive spots.
